I'm Colleen Reilly, and before this was a website, it was notes I kept for my own colour clients — what a formula actually costs to maintain, how it looks at week six, which Ikea hack I'd trust in my own three-decker apartment. This page explains how I turn those notes into the articles you read here, and the standards I hold myself to while doing it.
Chic Style Daily covers hairstyles, hair colour, haircuts, outfits, nails, and home decor — but the thread running through all of it is the same question I ask before I mix any colour at the chair: what does this actually cost to keep up, and is a real person on a real schedule going to keep up with it? We'd rather tell you a look needs a salon visit every eight weeks than let you find that out on your own at week six. That applies just as much to a bedroom Ikea hack as it does to a copper root touch-up.
Every article on this site is written or personally reviewed by me. Fourteen years behind the chair and about twenty colour clients a week means I'm testing this stuff on real heads, not just reading about it. When a post covers something outside my direct experience — a specific outfit trend or a home organization method, for instance — I still fact-check it against real sourcing before it goes up, and I say so plainly rather than pretending expertise I don't have. You can read more about my background on the About Us page.
Nothing publishes without a pass for accuracy, clarity, and whether it would actually hold up if you tried it in your own bathroom mirror.
Our roundups — Ikea storage hacks, kids' bedroom ideas, kitchen upgrades, hairstyle and colour guides — come from what I see clients asking for at the chair, plus what's genuinely trending and worth the ink. I'm not chasing every fad. If something looks good in a photo but is impractical, overpriced to maintain, or just won't survive a normal week, we either skip it or say so directly in the post.
Trends move fast in this industry, and I track them the same way I track colour formulas: by watching what actually performs over time, not just what looks good in one photo. When we reference products, techniques, or design ideas from outside sources, we credit them and link where appropriate. Photography sourcing and credit details live on our Image Credits page, and if you've found content used from Pinterest or similar platforms, our Pinterest Disclaimer explains how we handle that.
I recommend products the same way I'd talk to a client in my chair: what it costs, how long it lasts, and whether it's worth the money for what you're trying to do. I don't recommend something just because it's popular or because it's easy to link. If a product is mediocre, I'll tell you, even if that means fewer clicks.
Some links on this site are affiliate links, meaning we may earn a small commission if you purchase through them — at no extra cost to you. This never affects which products we choose to feature or how honestly we describe them. Full details are in our Affiliate Disclaimer.
Chic Style Daily runs advertising and occasionally partners with brands to bring you sponsored content or product features. We disclose these relationships clearly, and sponsored posts are always labeled as such — they're never disguised as independent editorial. Our broader financial and ad-related disclosures are outlined in our Disclosure page, and brands or creators interested in working with us can find details on our Collaboration page.
Hair, style, and home trends change, and sometimes we get things wrong or a piece simply goes out of date. When that happens, we correct it — quietly if it's a small factual fix, with a visible note if the change is substantial (like a product being discontinued or a technique being updated). If you spot something that needs fixing, email us directly at [email protected] and I'll personally look into it.
